Oaktoberfest IV presented by Firestone Walker Brewing Co.
September 27, 2008 - Paso Robles, California, United States
Firestone Walker Brewing Co. and River Oaks Hot Springs & Spa will roll out the barrels on September 27 at the 4th annual Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest in Paso Robles, a fun and flavorful oak-inspired twist on the great German tradition of Oktoberfest. Event proceeds benefit the Hospice of San Luis Obispo County.  Oaktoberfest will be held at River Oaks Hot Springs & Spa in Paso Robles from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 27.  Tickets are $35 per person ($40 at the door if not sold out), which includes admission, 5 samples of beer or wine and a first pour from a selection of Firestone Walker beers. Additionally, the first 1,200 people through the door will receive a commemorative stein. The multifaceted festivities will include the tapping of a special Oaktoberfest beer and live polka music by Trio Internationale, and a Beer Olympics featuring feats of strength and agility such as keg tossing, barrel rolling and stein racing. Traditional Oktoberfest-style fare will be served by local vendors. A Firestone Walker beer tent will be complemented by a German beer tent featuring a variety of German brews.

The Flying Saucer’s Fall Brew Fest will feature five beer tents, each with crafted brews chosen by The Flying Saucer’s own resident beer guru, Keith Schlabs. The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium Fall Brew Fest
The Flying Saucer’s Fall Brew Fest will feature five beer tents, each with crafted brews chosen by The Flying Saucer’s own resident beer guru, Keith Schlabs. Featured beers will include rare special releases and cask-conditioned ales. Admission to the event is free, but for $15, event goers will receive a commemorative glass and tasting card that can be redeemed for a sampling of 10 of the 20 featured beers. Brats, kraut and Bavarian pretzels also will be available. The event will have beers to satisfy everyone, from the casual drinker to the hard-core beer enthusiast, including some that aren’t often available in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Some of the notable beers are the St. Arnold Devine #7, Ayinger Oktoberfest, Dogfish Head’s Punkin Ale, Avery Brewing Company’s The Kaiser, Sierra Nevada Harvest Northern Hemisphere fresh hop ale, Live Oak Dry-Hopped Cask-Conditioned IPA, Stone Brewing Company’s Smoked Porter and the Victory Brewing Company’s Storm King Imperial Stout draught. The Fort Worth fest also will feature the Rahr & Sons Blind Salamander Pale and the Real Ale Shade Grown Coffee Porter, which is cask-conditioned, and at 1 p.m., the event will have a ceremonial tapping of the Real Ale Cask-Conditioned Dunkel Roggenbier.
